In 2009 I ’emigrated’ to Spain.  Unfortunately it didn’t work out and I was back in Blighty pretty sharpish.

However, whilst there, I met a lovely lady called Josephine and after I returned to the UK we kept in touch.  After the death of her husband, Josephine wanted to make their bedroom more girlie so to speak and asked me to do a painting for her.

When it was done I had been diagnosed with cancer, had an operated and begun chemotherapy.  So I decided to hand deliver my painting to her.

Thankfully she loved it.  I know because I didn’t tell her I’d brought it with me and left it on my bed for her to find after I’d gone.  Receiving her call in the taxi to the the airport was priceless.
