As an old git, in an attempt to get down with the youth of today, I thought I’d try my hand at a spot of street art.
In fact I’m actually a fan of street art and love walking around Hoxton, Shoreditch etc. where I first discovered real street art (as opposed to graffiti) when I went along with my daughter who was on a course in Hoxton.
Seeing some of the amazing creations that I assume are done under the cover of darkness by some young Scally who’s constantly looking over his shoulder in case the Rozzers appear, I wonder who they manage to make them look so cool?
God know’s why, but I decided to take a look on that GoogleInstaFaceTube thing and I found a video posted by a very exuberant young chap who calls himself Skech (mental note, I must email him about his spelling).
Mr. Skech did an absolutely amazing demonstration of ‘how to do a Glow In The Dark Minnie Mouse’.
I think fate may have stepped in here as my 4 month old granddaughter, Mila, has been nicknamed ‘Mouska’ by her older twin brothers as one loves Donald Duck and the other is a Mickey Mouse fan, so she had no choice, poor little thing.
So I duly hopped on Amazon, ordered ‘the shit’ and then got down with the youth and banged out a cracking 1st attempt (well, in my humble opinion and especially compared to many of my other 1st attempts in life!). I didn’t get the desired look and I wasn’t aiming to copy Mr. Skech’s brilliant demo, but I wanted a similar pink theme for my Grandaughter.
I’m not 100% sure what went wrong but a simple process of elimination makes me think I may have bought the wrong card. I think it absorbed the paint too quickly.
Anyway, here it is and now I can hold my head high whenever I find myself in ‘the hood’.
